Prayer Journal and Heart Motives

Prayer Journal Note

In your Christian life, in seeking the Lord in a walk with Him, you may have begun using a Prayer Journal. A simple notebook from a store is a good way to stay focused, record prayer wins, and see God's working over time.

In any given prayer journal, it often has a request, and sometimes noted there or later a prayer answered by the Lord. But consider adding to your prayers something else: for the practice of examining one’s own motive in each request. Ponder and get the heart right, in the motive, for the answer.

When God the Father answers your praise and request, try to jot a line about if any fruit of the spirit, such as kindness, or a thing turned from, a sin, that helped in that prayer being answered perhaps. If there was an aid perhaps to it, in an answer, what a joy to know that closer walk with the Lord in the future, as a bolster to your walk.

A famous gospel evangelist D.L. Moody kept a journal. In general, he was about making notes that are good, read or heard, believing it so. Those notes helped him focus or see God's handiwork. It likely helped him see verses in the Bible as heart useful, for prayer and study.

As well, Ruth Graham, Billy’s wife sought diligently in prayer. As she did, prayer with thoughts and feelings measured with Scripture insights were in her journal as well

Where do you go, for an objective prayer list of Godly motives. We want to gain answered prayers, yes! So do reflect deeply not quickly, in a place in the Bible, such as Paul's Letter Ephesians. Ephesians 4, verses 2 to 8. Paul lists out godly qualities like humility, patience, also the kingdom cause of Christ.

And what of the flip side? So, for the list of unwholesome motives, check out and meditate on in prayer Ephesians 4:25-32. In a pinch, just think end of Ephesians chapter four. No one is perfect God honors hearing Him.

Blessings.
